Larisa Bates has been dancing since she was 5 years
old, with a strict focus on ballroom dancing since 1998. She has
been teaching ballroom dance since 2000. She has trained celebrities
such as, Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker, actor Harry Hamlin
and tv personality Leeza Gibbons of "Dancing With the Stars",
choreographer Tyce Diorio of "So You Think You Can Dance",
reality tv star Tiffany Pollard of "I Love New York",
and worked with dancer Lacey Schwimmer of "Dancing With the
Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance". She has,
also, worked as a performer and/or choreographer in such projects
as Warner Brothers' "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil",
ABC Family's "Kicked Out", VH1's "I Love New York",
MTV's "Next" and "Parental Control", NBC's "Big
Shot Live", and USA Network's "Character Fantasy".
Larisa has competed in such ballroom competitions as the Emerald
Ball and the Embassy Ball and has won over 100 first place awards.
She is proficient in 20 different styles of partnership dance ranging
from the standard ballroom styles of Foxtrot, Waltz, and Tango to
the rhythmic styles of Salsa, Cha Cha, and Swing to lesser know
styles such as the Paso Doble, Two-step, and even Polka!
Larisa is available for group
or private lessons at any level, whether you are
interested in learning to dance socially, prepare for a wedding
or quinceanera dance, or if you want to compete.
Students may learn with or without their own partner.
Larisa is, also, available for private or corporate events.
Options are as simple as a group lesson to get the party guests
mingling to back-up dancers to supplement a wedding dance to an
elaborate professional performance.
