Rhythmic INtension

Youth Commercial Training Program

Being a dancer requires both a strong mind and facility, passion and a clear direction…

No matter your path, life long or short term; Dance is an exhilarating way to stay active and in shape, learn an international discipline and make everlasting friendships…

Rhythmic INtension is dedicated to guiding each dance company member with respect and integrity through his/ her own and individual practice. Our company is dedicated to young artists with a true passion for dance and helping them invest their efforts wisely for their future. Our goal is not to force an opinion, but rather to help dancers understand the industry and develop their own. Helping dancers flourish both in technique and character. Our experienced faculty can provide the knowledge, tools and connections needed to properly excel in this growing profession.

The Company:

  • Education and Technique

Our unique curriculum is designed to technically advance dancers, strengthen their bodies, and help them develop their style. Each division within the company is kept small to allow for maximum attention to our students. Outside company rehearsals and technique, daily classes in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Leaps and Turns, Stretch and Conditioning are offered. We also offer varied opportunities - to grow with monthly masterclasses and workshops for on-camera dancing, health and nutrition, audition/casting edict, college seminar, alignment and proper stretching … just to name a few.

  • Competition & Performance.

We are not at Rhythmic INtensions for trophies only!

Our success is measured by the growth of each member, both as an individual and as a part of the company. We do attend competitions, but it is not to set one member against another as fierce competitors, but more so to increase motivation, improve performances, and develop the confidence necessary to affront possible instances in which the outside world may not reward our members as they would like to be. Only attending those events in which the dancers can also get educational, financial, and networking benefits.

Our company members must complete competitive routines with the additional goal of performing in our year-end showcase. The showcase is our season ending performance, which brings with it an exciting , new repertoire! We invite outside choreographers to work with our dancers, setting pieces in all styles. Guests from schools, agencies, conventions, and competitions are invited to offer our dancers opportunity and exposure.

  • Company Director

Ilan Nuñez

Company Director

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but taken to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize as a baby, Ilan Nunez, has always had a passion for dancing.

At about the age of seven, Ilan started training with one of only two dance groups on the island, the “San Pedro Dance Company”, under the direction of the late Rosita Balthazar. Recognizing Ilan’s skill level and potential,” Miss Rosita” instantly took Ilan under her wing and had him train with company members in his age group and older, thus allowing him to quickly mature in performance and technique.

Ilan, not quite a teenager, moved with his family to San Antonio, Texas, where he soon after attended the North East School of the Arts as a Musical Theatre Major. Ilan kept busy performing for this prestigious school working in the cities best theater programs and competing as a “Dazzler” with "Earle Cobb Dance Studio”. He was also the youngest cast member ever to dance in San Antonio's Longest running river show, “Fiesta Noche Del Rio”.

After high school Ilan Attended Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. Performing work by Doug Bentz , Keisha Llama White and Ron Tusson. Once returning to Texas Ilan danced for: San Antonio Jazz Ensemble and Human Beauty as well as choreographing and dance in the Patsy Torres “Positive Force Tour”. Upon moving to Dallas, Ilan experienced his first of many industrials with Larwell Ent. and the Mary Kay Makeup Company. It was also then when he returned to the world of competitive dance working with some of the cities best teams. Including Beyond Belief Dance Company as seen on Netflix’s “Dancing Queen”.

Opting for a break from studio life and a new dance experience, Ilan auditioned and was cast with “Norwegian Cruise Line” and became a cast member of the “Spirit” performing on the coast of Europe. It was after his return to the US Ilan chose to move to Hollywood. Since then he has signed with “Movement Talent Agency”. He credits include but are not limited too: “The Greatest Showman“ “Isn’t It Romantic“ “Bathtubs Over Broadway” “Blue Moon Beer” “Cointreau” “The LA Opera” “Smirnoff” “Wish App.” and much more!

From “La Isla Bonita” to Los Angeles; Ilan continues to train, teach, perform as well as choreograph all over the US. When he isn’t in the dance studio, you can find Ilan at LA’s finest yoga studio as a Sculpt, Barre and Hot Power Fusion instruction. He is forever thankful for the endless support and love from his mother, partner and community.
