DIRECTIONS are on a separate sheet (to the access road). The chalet can be approached from our street below, or the access road above. "Access" is the way to go. From the driveway below there are 50 steps to climb. From access road: only 15 feet from the car, no steps but a gentle ramp to the front door.
ENTRANCE CODE: Both exterior doors are opened by a keypad. We will share the code with you, once your stay is affirmed.

COMPUTER: Feel free to use. Access code: swissmist
PRIME VIDEO, HULU AND NETFLIX ARE AVAILBLE: use the credit card-sized remote on the coffee table. Please place upside down when not in use, as there a light cell exposed to recharge the battery.
BOARD GAMES AND CARDS: In the drawer of the cedar chest coffee table (upstairs)
OUTDOOR CUSHIONS: located in front bedroom closet
FIREPLACE: Gas only. The chimney vent is always open. When using, open the glass doors. When not in use, please close. To the left of the hearth is a silver key to turn on the gas (in wall). You will also find the flame lighter. Turn key to LEFT to light. Turn to RIGHT to turn off
THERMOSTAT: located in the upstairs hallway. For heat efficiency, please close the vent registers (and close doors) in bedrooms that are not in use.
TOWELS AND SHEETS: All beds are unmade. There are sheets and towels in the upstairs hall closet.
If you prefer to bring your own bedding/towels, be our guest.
KITCHEN: The kitchen has pretty much everything. Explore and you will find. Unfortunately, the electric ignition on the stovetop is temperamental, so you may need to use the butane lighter.
WASHING MACHINE:
This Circa 1980 washing machine works great/ However, one thing to remember is that it is mechanical. Pull hard on the dial to turn to desired setting, and then push hard to engage/start.
BBQ
Located at the end of the living room deck. Turn on gas container beneath the BQ, and then turn
TRASH: There is no trash pickup. We either bring home, or there is a recycling center in Crestline; open on Sundays only.
CHECKING OUT
1. Turn off thermostat. In winter months set thermostat to 50 degrees (heat mode)
2. Launder towels and sheets. Washer and dryer are downstairs. If you need to leave early you may leave linens in the dryer, drying.
3. Close the glass doors on the fireplace
4. All lights off. with the exception of the hanging light in dining room. Pull chain to leave on. deck lights and porch --they stay on, as they are either on timer or light sensor.
5. Check that both doors are locked
6. Clean off all surfaces, sweep or vacuum floors.
Broom/mop/cleaning supplies are in closet next to main entrance. Upstairs vacuum in the upstairs bedroom closet. Downstairs vacuum (upright) is in the storage room next to washer/dryer.
Option: you may hire a local person to clean the cabin/laundry

The best market ever! great deli, lots of organic/GF options. Café inside with breakfast burritos, smoothies, acai bowls, wellness shots, etc. Outdoor balcony seating overlooking Lake Gregory. Groceries delivered, if needed. There’s even a soda fountain counter with shakes, floats, etc. and a gourmet coffee counter. The bakery has multitudes of cakes, eclairs, fruit pies, and they have a pizza counter—They make it fresh.

PINE CREST

We call it Pine crest but it's really called Indian Hill Trail. This is a heavily shaded pine trail, about a
1-mile loop. 9 times out of 10 we have the trail to ourselves.
NORTHSHORE TRAILHEAD (CEDAR GLEN, at Arrowhead Lake)

This is a great one at the edge of SB national forest. It goes forever and. Scarcely populated. Head's up: trail is also open to ATVs so keep an eye out, but we've only seen an AT Ver once.
HEART ROCK HIKE

This has a lot of hype, and there’s two trails to choose from— that lead to a rock that's shaped like a heart, is located near “Top Town” and Cedar Pines Park. Sometimes a mere trickle.
