ABOUT THE CLASS

Class will consist of a 30-45 minute warmup, across the floor, and a choreographic combination in the center. 

As a teacher, I cultivate a joyful and open-minded environment where we can investigate new sensations, experiment with movement, and learn from one another. Students are encouraged to listen to their bodies and modify movement if needed. Every body is a dancing body!

ABOUT KEL

 Kel Gunn (they/them) is a trans/nonbinary dancer and choreographer. They create collaboratively-devised dance theater, perform freelance, and present work across LA, Chicago, and New York. Recent credits in LA include Mixed eMotion Theatrix, Highways Performance Space’s “Behold” Series, and Urban Nut. They have been teaching contemporary dance for over a decade, and their experience is supplemented by courses through the National Dance Education Organization (Dance Pedagogy: Learning Styles and Theories; Jazz Dance Theory & Practice; Dance History: Furthering Equity Through Cultural Awareness)
